Smashbox Competition Update

The official update is here. Jasmine and I took to the bed for most of the day yesterday. We were just worn out by this who thing. Sorry, this is so long but as usual...I have a lot to say. First I will update you on this contest, then I want to tell you what is next! Yes, I still work, even when I have taken to the bed.

If you have been keeping up on Facebook, Twitter or this blog, you know that we have been all consumed with this Smashbox competition. I have been campaigning votes like crazy. The first week that I made the video, I think I was in 3rd place with about 140ish votes  when I last looked. Then the voting ended at midnight last Monday and started over. It took days to announce but my blogger buddy, from My Newest Addiction, was last week's winner. Go Laura!

Last week, I was sitting pretty in the #1 spot all week until the last day. I knew that the voting would end at midnight (on the west coast), but when I got up Monday morning I had been bumped back down to #2 and I was 70 votes from the leader!

I fought hard to stay positive and keep my spirits up. There were a few people who had been plugging away for me all week, but I am still beaming when I think of the support I was getting on Monday. Because of all of you wonderful people, I went from being 70 behind the leader that morning to 70 ahead when I went to bed!

Last night I got word that the winner had been announced and it was ME! I think I just barely made it so every vote truly counted. I brought in the win with 627 votes!

The email they sent me was extremely unclear. It says that I was this week's winner but that I should keep people voting because the video with the most votes of all 6 weeks will be the one featured on their website. I am not sure if there is only one winner for the makeup or what? You can understand how exhausted that I am by trying to figure this out!

I am going to see if I can get an actual firm and clear answer on if week one (my 140 votes) will be added to the 627, and then the following weeks will count too or what? Who knows but if you didn't vote and you want to vote, apparently it still counts?

If you saw this Public Service Announcement (maybe its more of a Self Service Announcement?), this is me shamelessly begging for votes and this alone should warrant me some prize, right? This is me telling you how to vote thru Facebook and the blog. The biggest deal is that you can't vote thru a phone or iPad. I wrote a whole post about it here, so you can check that out.



So, the moral of this story is that I thank you all so much for voting! I can't tell you enough how much this meant to me. Just a few weeks ago, I was wondering why do I do this? Is anyone even reading or listening. I got some great messages, Facebook posts, all around encouragement from friends and family that have totally renewed my drive. I LOVE you guys so much. Thank you!

She is a finalist against Mark Cuban. I'm sure he is a nice guy but we like her WAY more.
