July Sample Society with Allure

Sample Society July box
You know I LOVE a sample box. Here is what I got in my June Sample Society box. I made a YouTube video too!

Like I mention in the video, I love the little mini magazine that you get in each box. It gives general tips, here some examples.

How to Moisturize like a Pro-- shorten those showers, use a creamy cleanser, exfoliate, moisturize right out of the shower and again before bed.
Hide Crows Feet--choose a very moisturizing eye cream, remember your anti-oxidants, sweep on silicone based primer, wear wide UV protective sunglasses.
3 things dry skin hates-- keep your cleanser simple, be careful with retinoids, tell your waxer you have dry skin!
Bold Lip Lessons--Exfoliate and moisturize first, use a lip pencil for long lasting results, apply lip color to the bottom lip only then press lips together, smooth out color with a lip brush to avoid bleeding.
Look good when you oversleep--use a light concealer and primer or tinted moisturize that is luminous,  use a product that has multiple uses (like peach or pink lipstick on lips/eyelids/cheek), define eyes with liner and great mascara.

This pencil was the tricky one.... as I said in the video, I wasn't sure about this white glimmer lip pencil. I did some research and it seemed like everyone who reviewed this box on their blog and YouTube was really stumped by the white end of the pencil. I guess you could use it on the inner rim of the eye but here is how I have been using it.......
Top left is the starting point and top right is the finished product. Start with a bare lip, then line the lips with the Sangria end of the pencil. Then fill in the lip with Sangria, but do not fill in the center/cupid's bow part of lip on the top and bottom. Fill the center part in using the White Glimmer end of the pencil. I finished with Pretty Amazing lip gloss by Bare Minerals (Perky).

Using the concept that dark colors recede and lighter colors reflect light, applying the white under the gloss at the center of the lip brings the focal point to the center of the mouth. The lip gloss blends and softens the colors together creating soft focused brightness at the center.

I THINK this is how you are supposed to use. This is at least how I am using it. And its working for me. Try it!
