DIY Body Scrub Tutorial

I have a new coconut oil creation! You know I love it! Ever since that day I made that awesome mask for my hair, I have been obsessed with making body scrubs and other concoctions. I even got inspired to make some magic shell for my homemade ice cream! Remember that? I mentioned it in a High Five for Friday post.

This scrub, as seen HERE in the step by step guide that I made for you to enjoy, is super easy to make. There are only a few ingredients that you probably already have lying around. Its just brown sugar, lime and coconut oil.
I saw this little recipe in Self magazine. I made it exactly the way the directions said....Did I mention that if you click HERE that I made this awesome tutorial to show you how I did that?  Seriously, its a step by step guide. Anyway, I made the scrub exactly like the guide. Then I used the scrub (obvi!) and here is what I think of it.....

The acidity of the lime breaks down the dead skin and the coconut oil is super moisturizing. You use brown sugar, which is very fine and not as scrubby (is that a word?) as white sugar or salt, it doesnt give you much exfoliation power. I have used it twice. It works best if you use some of those body scrubbing gloves and massage it into your skin. It also works really well as a shave gel. My legs were SO smooth and super duper soft.

Try it.....let me know what you think. Do you have a favorite DIY body treatment? I'm about to make this face mask that I saw in another magazine, I can't wait to share the results! Here are some more coconut oil ideas!
