This week, I have been in major prep mode. I feel like I am getting ready for my own wedding, which I was actually doing at this time last year. Nope, this time I am getting ready to go away for the weekend to celebrate my 1 year anniversary, which is Monday. It just blows my mind that this time last year I was in New Orleans getting ready to be a bride. Wow. That is all I can say.
Like most couples, we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary by "modeling" as bride and groom for a photography workshop. Oh, wait, that is not what most people do?.....well, we don't have the top of our cake so we have to do something! Ha!
My good friend, Katelyn James, a fabulous wedding photographer, is hosting one of her photography workshops this Friday. Jeff and I are going to be playing bride and groom. How fun! Usually I am not the one in front of the camera, instead I spend a lot of time on set making sure the models are camera ready. I have to admit that I am a little nervous and definitely out of my comfort zone!
Nervous and excited. I think this will be a fun way to kick off our wedding anniversary weekend. Of course, I want to look my best and be a good "model" to make Katelyn proud.
I have posted about how to find a makeup artist/stylist and how to prepare for your trial run but I haven't posted about preparing for the big day. Well, since I am in that mode again this week, I am reminded of a few things.
You have spent the last year planning. Everything is done. You have hired the best of the best professionals to make things perfect. Your friends and family are ready to swoop in and help out. What do you do now?
Well, myself or some other professional will take care of everything. Go get a nice mani/pedi and maybe a massage....RELAX! What you need to do the week or so before is try to get as much rest as possible. Sleep! Also, hydrate, drink a TON of water. So much that you think you will float away. Sleep and water will make your skin radiant.
Speaking of skin, exfoliate and moisturize. I got a great daily exfoliant in my Birchbox (video here) that has been rocking my world this week. Follow your exfoliant with a moisturizer!
You want to make sure your eyes are bright. I love Visine Tired Eyes to get the red out. Curl those lashes to make your eyes look more open. I swear by Tarte's Nude Inner Rim Brightner, available at Ulta.
Congratulations, you are about to have the greatest day ever. All of your friends and family and everyone who is important in your life will be there to celebrate with you. How beautiful is that! Stay tuned for a recap of our debut as "models" for the workshop.
Thank you, Jason Cohen, for the beautiful photos from our wedding. You will see more on Monday and Tuesday.
